What happens after a report
Reports are reviewed by staff. Outcomes are recorded. The reporting Applicant is thanked, in principle.
A member of staff looks at every alias reported. They either reset it, so the Applicant is known by number alone, or close the report and leave the alias as it is. Either way it is written down. The Applicant reported is not told who reported them, and you are not sent the outcome. You will see it on their profile.
Where a rule has been broken, staff can also take a step, from the least to the most:
- a note only staff see;
- a warning;
- a timeout of some hours: the rooms and the elevator are closed, but your file, journal, ID card and the Registry are not;
- the alias withdrawn for some days;
- left out of the Registry for some days, which also gives up copy numbers;
- a suspension of some days, with no logging in;
- a ban.
Every step but the note comes with a notice naming the rule it was taken for. It waits at the top of Your File until you put it away, and a line under the room's remark points to it. Nothing pops up. A suspension or a ban is explained on the log-in page instead, with when it ends. A step with an end ends by itself.
Staff look back 90 days when choosing a step, so good conduct works its way back down.
