Playing on a phone, and installing it
The building may be visited from a phone. It may also be affixed to the phone's home screen, where it will wait for you.
The game is made for phones first and works in any current browser on a phone or a computer. There is nothing to download.
On a phone, a bar along the bottom of the screen moves between File, Room, Elevator, Journal and Registry. Everything in a room can be done with taps. Nothing needs dragging. A phone that is able to will buzz briefly when a hold registers. Sound can be switched on or off under the room.
To keep the game on your home screen:
- Android: Your File may offer an Add it button. If it does not, open your browser's menu and choose to install the app or add it to the home screen.
- iPhone: in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
It then opens full screen, with its own icon, like any other app.
It still needs a connection. Your file is kept on the Bureau's server, not on your phone, so you can pick up where you left off on any device by logging in. If the Bureau cannot be reached, the room says so and the act is not recorded.
